The "Mino" is a very elegant cork ejector from Fratelli
Cassetti in Florence, Italy. The heavy two piece silver-plated
casing is marked FATTO A MANO CASSETTI, P.
SPAGNOLO with the Cassetti registered silver hallmark. It
is from the "Lega Cassetti" collection which the firm says
"represents a synthesis of the most advanced metal
technology, flawlessly combined with timeless design and the
crafts traditions of the master silversmiths who continue to
make all Cassetti articles by hand."
The operating instructions refer to the product as an "Air-
Pump Cork Screw" even though there is no screw. An
interesting admonition in the instructions is "Do not pull
holding the Silverplated body as the mechanism might
separate." They go on to say, however, that you simply need
to shove the black plastic "stem-like" pump back in and "no
damage has been done."
The pump inside the casing is similar in construction to
those of GSD, WMF, and Emide in Germany.
Note: Fatto A Mano = Hand Made.
