Here is disassembled example the Valezina. The core (1) is threaded into the

barrel (2) from the bottom. The large handle (3) is threaded onto the top of the

core and secured by a set screw (4). The worm shaft (5) is inserted into the

assembly through the bottom of the core. Finally, the small handle (6) is threaded

on.

Instructions for using the Valezina are found on the

underside of the box top.

1. With the large wing screwed down as far as it will

go (to the left), place the mouth of the Valezina over

the cork and turn the small wing just like an

ordinary corkscrew.

2. When the wings meet, turn the large one still in

the same direction and out comes the cork.
