Introduction

The first issue of

The Daily Screw

was published online on February 10, 2003. On

February 10, 2004, issue number 369 was published. Strapped for time for a

―

Daily

Screw,

‖

the publication was renamed the

―

Occasional Screw.

‖

From February 11, 2004

through October 6, 2004, thirty-four issues were published.

In late 2004, I compiled

Corkscrew Stories Volumes 1 & 2.

Some of the stories originally

appeared on the Internet in

The Daily Screw

and in

The Virtual Corkscrew Museum

. New

stories were added. Volume 1 has 129 stories with 689 pictures and Volume 2 has 125

stories with 600 pictures.

The

―

Screw

‖

was resurrected on April 3, 2006 as

The Weekly Screw

. By January 10, 2010,

one hundred and ninety-one issues were published. A combined total of 594 issues

were now online.

The plus for the online pages was full color. The minus for

Corkscrew Stories Volumes 1 &

2

was publication in black and white due to the high cost of color printing.

Many of the stories in the

―

Weekly

‖

had additions in subsequent issues. I now present

many of these stories with additions and further research in two new volumes -

Corkscrew Stories Volumes 3 & 4.

A number of stories are included that were not

published in the

―

Weekly.

‖

Faced one again with the high cost of printing on paper in color, I decided to publish

the new books in digital form on a compact disk. In order to give the corkscrew

enthusiast everything in color, I have included Volumes 1 & 2 on the disk.
