Ferd Peters noted that this is

a rare
example with a split frame, manufactured only for a short period between Aug. 29, 1892
and March 7, 1893 until the patent had been granted etc.
‖
This Columbus type steel corkscrew has bearing assist and
an Indian rubber insert at the bottle collar. The frame is
marked MONOPOL 117 (manufacturer in Marburg,
Germany) on one side and D.R.G.M. on the other. The
bottom of the Indian rubber insert is also marked
D.R.G.M.
