Blackpool
Perhaps the most well known site in Blackpool, England is the Tower which
dominates the landscape of this seaside resort. The tower was
opened to tourists on May 14, 1894. It appears on a brass handle
souvenir corkscrew.
The tower is 518 feet high and weights 2,943 tons. For its 100th
birthday it was painted gold with 2.9 tons of paint.
In addition to the tower and the beach, the seaside pleasure seeker
will find a zoo, a waxworks, a toy museum, and a couple of casinos
in Blackpool.
