While British Oxygen was making the Sparklets Corkmaster for the European market,
they were producing the "Cork-Ace" for the U. S. market. The product is exactly the
same but is stamped "Cork-Ace Patents Pending" around the bottom rim of the top.
The European version is stamped "Sparklets Corkmaster" around the rim. The black
lever is marked "Made in England."
Denis Farandatos had formed
Denis Industries Ltd. using an
address of 120 Cedar Street,
New York City to distribute
the Cork-Ace. For best
performance they
recommended using "Soda King
Super Chargers (syphon
cartridges)," which were
manufactured by Kidde
Manufacturing Company,
Bloomfield, New Jersey.
On the instruction sheet from Neo Valve Products, a second company name used at
120 Cedar Street, New York City, it says "Made in U. S. A." Oddly enough the product
itself is marked "Made in England" on the operating lever. For further information on
"Neo Valve", see the United States section.
Cork-Ace was also distributed by Berkshire Sales, 165 Jessie St., San Francisco. They
were also a distributor of the Cork Pops.
The Cork-Ace appears in the March, 1961 issue of Giftwares.
